The Lowdown: Partnering with India's UTV Pictures, Disney marks the first of five entries on the list of qualifiers with "Arjun: The Warrior Prince." Telling the story of the mythical Pandava brothers and the rise of Arjuna, immortalized in the Hindu Bhagavad Gita, the film is crisply animated in a traditional style reminiscent of the 1990s Disney heyday. Its characters are placed in digitally rendered backdrops courtesy of Autodesk technology, which has been responsible for work in video games and feature films such as "Avatar." The effect is a bit choppy, if unique, but regardless, the film would seem unlikely to register with a branch that has a bevy of artful entries to choose from. click here
